Starting from the world famous ski resort of Kitzbühel at an altitude of 762 m, this great panoramic road has a length of 8.4 km and a continuous uphill gradient of 10 to 18 percent. Over this small distance, the Kitzbüheler Horn will dazzle you with 18 spectacular hairpin bends that will push your driving skills to the limit.
After driving for around 20 minutes you will reach the Kitzbüheler Horn Alpenhaus, a renowned mountain hut with an ample parking lot and a very nice restaurant where you can try some local delicacies, rest and admire the gorgeous view. Behind the hut there is a wide, asphalted hiking path uphill, taking you to a beautiful alpine flower garden located at an altitude of 1800 m. Opened in 1985, the alpine flower garden has gathered mountain plants from all over the world over a surface of 20.000 sqm.
At the end of the garden, the road leads to a summit cross. Further up, you can reach the peak of the Kitzbüheler Horn at 1.996 m altitude on a privately owned road that has a width of only 1 m and a maximum gradient of 22.3%.
