Road No. SP29

Passo delle Erbe is a very narrow and steep road that connects Val Badia with the Isarco valley, located in northern Italy at an elevation of 1987m. In German, it is called Würzjoch.
The road named Strada Provinciale 29 (SP29) connects Brixen and San Martin de tor villages, first one in Eisacktal, the second one in Val Gardena regions.

From Brixen to San Martin de tor

The road to Passo delle Erbe is completely paved but very narrow and steep in the higher sections. The highest part of this paved road reaches an altitude of 2004 meters, while the lowest point of it is at 1992 meters at the hotel-restaurant of the pass. But different sources report different levels.

The road is very pleasant and it takes place in a very beautiful and quiet valley.
Traffic is modest in comparison to other mountain passes because it is a very narrow and steep road, but that’s the perfect place to test your car! Here, your driving pleasure will reach the maximum!

The classic route has two steps that your car or motorcycle has to overcome because between Passo delle Erbe and Aferer Pass there is the deep groove of the Luson Valley, where you must descend before going up to the second pass. The Luson valley has become feasible only recently through the asphalting of the steep forest road.

The feeling of freedom that a trip to Passo delle Erbe is unique – imagine yourself being immersed in the Dolomites.
Driving through mountain passes that succeed and on serpentine mountain roads, you will feel captivated by the movement of the stunning surrounding landscape.

Other driving destinations in the area are Furkelpass, Passo Campolongo, Passo Gardena, Passo Sella and Passo Falzarego, the main Dolomite passes, which will make you feel the adrenaline at its maximum, surrounded by giant mountains and a breathtaking panorama.
